Beverly Hills Post Office (BHPO) is the name given to a section of Beverly Hills roughly a mile north of Sunset Blvd. Beverly Hills Post Office covers most of the luxury gated communities in Los Angeles.
The identification of the section with Beverly Hills did not begin until the 1960s. "When Beverly Hills was incorporated in 1914, the northern border was roughly a mile north of Sunset Boulevard, with the exception of Trousdale Estates. The remaining section stretching north to Mulholland Drive was left as part of the hills of Los Angeles, where it remained anonymous for decades." In 1963 the area was included within the 90210 ZIP Code, which also covers the northern part of Beverly Hills.
Homes in Beverly Hills Post Office encompass a great variety of styles and prices, from just under $1 million all the way up to over $50 million. There’s a fantastic range of mid-century and contemporary homes, many with incredible views of L.A. also a wide range of more traditional family homes. The area boasts easy access to Beverly Hills proper and the rest of the Westside as well as some of L.A.’s best private schools, but also offers more seclusion and privacy.
Mulholland Estates and The Summit are BHPO’s most popular gated communities. Offering guarded gates and controlled entry, these neighborhoods provide extra privacy and security, as well as other neighborhood amenities. Homes in both neighborhoods are generally over 3,000 square feet, and priced from about $3 million to $10 million.
The lower portion of Beverly Hills Post Office is home to Beverly Park, one of Los Angeles’ most coveted high-end estate neighborhoods. Guarded and gated with controlled entry, Beverly Park residences are sprawling estates frequently 10,000 square feet and up, on huge lots with spectacular amenities. Some of L.A.’s greatest estates are located here, and the neighborhood’s few dozen residences are owned by celebrities, entrepreneurs, and high-ranking executives. Beverly Park homes are priced from about $15 million and up.
